Ok I got this motherboard and built my pc with an i7 2700k a couple days ago. When I went into the asus utility and tried to download bios it didnt let me it just says "searching for server" forever. Also I thought it would be interesting to use the asus auto OC tool and see what it could do because what it is supposed to do is reboot show a screen with clocks and than waits a minute, reboots shows the new clocks, ect each time higher and you tell it to stop when it acheived the clocks you want. Well with my I started it it reboots and then just goes back into windows but freezes every time and never shows me the screen of what clock speed it is at.
What I do to reset everything is I just go into bios and tell it the put everything to optimized defaults. That makes it all stock again correct? cause only thing in the bios I changed it fan speeds cause I want them all to be 100% all the time.
what I did to acheive what I think is stable overclock is http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1578110 the second post in that thread and instead of using his voltage I set it to 1.400 and it works great.
