Hey all.

i got my new motherboard today and i need some advice from you guys.
I'm wondering what drivers & software should i download from the asus website i have been looking on there but i'm confused can you all give me some recommended driver & software to download.

Thanks guys

Thats a very open ended question. You need the drivers but software and utilities if you dont need it dont bother.

thanks tom, yeah i know i need the basic stuff like chipset, sata, usb what i'm asking is the other stuff they have on the website.

Right well sadly I cant remember whats on their website so either just follow what Ive said above because thats the basics of it or ask a direct question mate rather than assuming we can remember everything like Sheldon Cooper :p

Don't really need Bios updates if this one works fine, don't need the manual, utilities or Bios-utilities.

Just stick with the Chiperset, Sata, USB, LAN, Audio and VGA-(optional). :)

Ok then i don't really need audio cause i use a DAC also same goes for the VGA, thanks for the advice :)

DAC isn't an actual sound card but just converts digital audio signal to analogue (hence the name Digital to Analogue Converter) so it still uses your on-board audio unless you have an external soundcard+DAC in one unit, or an internal sound card that has a DAC on it.

Don't know about the Keybot thing, but afaik ROG CPU-Z is just CPU-Z with a skin on it, and you really don't need RAMDisk unless you plan on using an actual RAMDisk.

Best thing you can do is just Google the utilities and see if they can be useful to you.

Yeah tbh mate youre asking us to tell you wether YOU will like something or not. You kinda need to work it out for yourself tbh.

No mate busy with important stuff

If your unsure what you need or don't need, why not just install everything, like keybot, and stuff and give them a try, and if you find you don't need any of them, just uninstall them.

I have the ranger motherboard installed now re install all drivers and everything but if i go into the device manger it still said there is a Unknown device
i have no idea in what that would be for

Maybe it's just a USB drive or other device (headset, wireless receiver, etc.) plugged into your computer that is not recognized by windows?

there is no usb thumb drive plug in atm, the only thing i think it could be is that keybot thing but not sure

----------------

Just found out what it is someone else posted the same issue on here as well, its the Asus Probe II Sense Driver.

----------------

I downloaded and installed it but it didn't work for me so it still says Unknown device but it has moved down into the System devices tho.

----------------

looks like the unknown device has been fixed it was a driver its the WSD print device i have never seen this driver before, there is a strange issue now tho i can not install any ASUS software it just doesn't install at all.
