Sorry to bother everyone and TTL.
But sadly I bought asus maximus 6 extreme... just 2days ago,
before looking into TTL video review
Would it have been better if I gotten gigabyte g1 sniper 5...
Oh gosh am really worried about this.
Coz it seems like I made a every bad move on my new rig for 2014
If anyone could help me asap it would be great, so that I could try my best to change the mobo.

Ok mate, first make it clear to us why you think you made a bad decision.

Is it the additional cost for no real addition to overclocking potential?

If that is the case if you want to get some of that money back and buy a cheaper board I would try to cancel that order, but it likely is already shipped :(

hi thanks for replying am really stressed out on this that I forgot to post more details.
I was stuck between asus maximus 6 extreme vs gigabyte g1 sniper 5.
And I went for asus. But after watching TTL review on the asus mobo I went unsure of the mobo.
I bought it from a retailer in singapore. They are about the same price tag so I might have a chance to change it.
The reason I went asus coz I saw on newegg that the sniper was not compatible with rams at 2133.
Am using my new build for pc gaming. Photoshop. 3d modeling and in the very near future am going to go back to school to study and learn game programing.
And I plan on overclocking.

Anyone and everyone is welcome to join and give me ur opinion please :(!

Am bumping the thread right now because am really worried about this.

Basicly after watching TTL review on asus maximus 6 extreme am having doubts if i should I stay with my asus maximus 6 extreme or change and get gigabyte g1 sniper 5 ?!?!
If anyone could help me it would be great because I have only a week to change with the store and I left 4days. After that I'll be stuck with my asus mobo

Change it! yeah the mobo issues have been fixed but it is a huge waste of money considering there are ITX motherboards that can achieve the same overclocks for a lot less, so go for the gigabyte imo.

Thanks Dark NighT.
But sadly its been alrdy paid :(. I highly doubt I can get a refund and get a cheaper mobo.
So in your opinion getting a gigabyte g1 sniper 5 would be better?
Right?
If i rmb the issus with the board was that when u OC its to hot, am I right on this?

Oh gosh am so stressed out on this

The big issue with the ASUS board is that you're paying crazy money for features you're unlikely to need. It is not a bad board at all and as someone's correctly mentioned the bios issues i'm pretty sure have been fixed.

You'll get the same performance out of this board as you would from the Sniper so don't get too stressed out.

Thanks for your reply WillSK.
Got so stressed out.
But if asus have features that are unlikely needed.
what about the sniper does it too have features I might not need?

The Max6 wont overclock any better than a £100 board for 99% of people.

You should buy boards on looks and features, IMHO the Maximus Formula is the best looking board in the range but the fact you are worried just makes me think "you are buying the best" and thats the wrong thing to do matey.

Thanks for your reply WillSK.

Only you can tell that.

Keep what you have and don't worry, It's a great board and if you ever do world class benchmarking with it you know you can squeeze out that extra percent or two ^_^

I have to admit TTL u hit the nail on the head. Am not going try and cover up and hide the fact. I really tot higher cost meant better performance.
Me being a noob I really tot like that.
Sadly I had to learn the lesson the hard way. Wasted my money that I worked and saved for. I dont really have any regrets but the fact that i went for it.
I only got myself to blame for.

But I really am thankful for everyone that helped me out in the forum and to u TTL for replying my msg. Thanks for telling me about the 2nd video I missed out on for the Max6 after watching it. It was clear that am not a world class overclocker nor do i plan to be one. So its best that I change my mobo more for my needs. Sadly I cant get a refund and downgrade. So its best that I try to change it to the gigabyte g1 sniper 5. Which is about the same price in singapore.
Again I thank everyone.

Hahaha :) thanks for your positive feedback Dicehunter.
I dont plan to do world class benchmarking. Its like TTL said those are the 1% am just your everyday 99%
I'll try my best to have a chat with the retailer and see if I can change. If I cant. No gain or lost I guess
