I have an Asus Max 4 Extreme and want to go sli with the gtx 580 matrix 3 slot. Any idea if I will have any room left on the board for a sound card?

yes you can but it will have to be a pcie card, it can fit in the middle if you get 2 matrix cards or at the bottom if you got a standard 580, but this will cause heat issues.

pcie x1 card can go in a 16x slot dude

and if your psu is touching the bottom of your motherboard, then you cant fit 2 matrix cards and sound card

you might want to keep some space between those coolers tbh, its gonna need the airflow, unless your just buying matrix's because they look pretty, not because of the rest.
