dear forum ,

i hope u guys can help me out , after checking my PSU for issue's i noticed my card was making an annoying sound , the most persistant one troughout the case .

what i also found odd was the fact the black side , when i touched it i had to remove my finger because it was so hot , is that normal ?

also when i start my pc , and check the temp the card is around 31 degrees , but after just a minut it already runs at 60 degree's

this has gotten me worried my card might be faulty or damaged by my PSU which seems to have issues to

or could it be the fact the card is placed on the pci slot which makes it stand atop the chipset heatsink ?

Have you checked the core temperature?

Have a look in AMD overdrive and see how hot things are getting and how fast the speeds are.

Before I put the waterblock on my card it would hit about 50% and 75C max on the core.

The fan will get very noisy if you let it spin up past 60% or so.

Yes it will get warm though

Edit:

Sorry by reference cooler I mean the standard AMD one with the turbine style fan and the fully covered shroud, or is it a custom ASUS one such as the Direct CUII?

i checked the temp via the GPU tweak program that came with the card

can ur PSU damage ur vid card or otherway round ?

Yes, in theory, although if i'm not mistaken it's far more likely to pop a hard drive before your graphics card goes.

When you say it's hot to the touch, is it just warm or is it too hot to keep your finger pressed down on it?

to hot to keep ur finger on it

ok started up the pc atmo ime getting µ

29 gpu temp

24 memory temp

22 power temp

it really doesn't seem to bad for me, feel the VRMs on your MOBO somewhere the will likely be just as hot.

That sound doesn't sound normal to me, try stopping the fan and seeing if that stops the noise

the PSU fan doesen't run , cause its one of those smart temp fan's and only runs if the load exceeds 20 percent

the noise of the PSU changes with scroll trough my GPU tweak menu , or if the vid card switches between loading screens in game's

already emailed the store the PSU is from and hopefully they will change it
