ASUS announce ROG X399 Zenith Extreme Threadripper motherboard

Extreme AMD board. Oh it has been so long since we had the joy. I sure hope reviews will come soon.

I don't like that the Asus logo is upside down on that middle chip between the PCI-e slot.

Apart from that I love it!

It is a prerelease sample. I think they will correct that before they come to shelves.

Quite clever naming from Asus on this one too. And it looks fabulous. Would look even better if all of the stupid lights were turned off. Shame it doesn't have the side loading 24 pin though.

From my experiences with side loading USB 3.0 headers, I'd be happy with a top loaded 24 pin.

The connectors on the front case USB 3.0 cables are generally too obtrusive to fit properly with side loading headers, and this is with using a variety of cases so I'm not a fan of side loaded headers.

What an odd move making a gaming oriented motherboard for a CPU that's clearly meant for number crushing. Would any of you even consider buying this for gaming mostly?

This is a VERY nice looking board and smashes the X299 boards that I have seen, I think this is the best looking board I've seen to date so well done Asus!

If I had the money I would put two 1080Ti's and multiple PCI-e SSD's for an insane gaming rig, yeah. But then again, if I had that kind of money I'd consider Intel.

I really wonder what that single ram slot is for near the edge, it... kinda stands out weirdly, other then that it is a great looking board.
