Asus 7950 DCII owners! Do i get a new cooler?

any of you know how to get the temps down ? like a fix

RMA it for a VII, it has a massive desing flaw, in gaming it gets to over 115 degrease on the back of the pcb without a problem, if you dont send it back it will fail, ive seen more and more being sold on ebay as faulty. if a card isnt cooled, solder melts and you need a new card. you dont want that to happen a month out of warrenty, or ever.

i may be able to buy it as spares or repairs basis. all dependent of course!
or would be happy to take look at it and diagnose weather its the fans or in fact the pcb/bios
Flashing a bios really is not hard, you have a dual bios card, therefore if one goes bad, boot back into windows, and hot switch the bios back to the bricked one (switch it whilst in windows to the bad bios) the card will still be operation, nd then you try it again or try a different bios of course. Any pcb scratches or marks? maybe you knocked of a SMD component>
And are you sure its just the fans? or does it crash at the same exact time the fans are powered of?

oh and if there's no asus serial number on the card you can t prove its the same one as your claiming to send back, hence why you cant rma it, its security for asus.

Just wanted to add some info for you.

Concerning plugging in another fan/heatsink assembly its not possible because on the dc2t the fan header is a 5pin one not a 3/4 as usually seen on other graphic cards.
I'm also aware that bios flashing is easy and since its a double bios card i can allways get it back to original state. But each bios has a different function regarding the video outputs(enables/disables DP, switches between DVI D single/dual link), so if not flashed on the right location (switch on 1 or 2) i might end up with some outpouts not working any more. TBH i dont know if there are actually 2 different bios on the card or if the switch is just for the video output switching on a physical level. (Eyefinity6).

And also i'm aware that with no serial number they cant relate the card to its box or buyer. The sticker peeled of and i just threw it away, stupid idea but thats a lesson for the future.

Here is a picture of what happens when swithing between position 1 an 2:

So i tok aparty my 7950 VII
Heres the naked PCB- same pcb as the 7970 DCII with a couple small changes
img0595ln.jpg

the moister on the pcb is rubbing alcohol, the pcb was sticky for some reason.
Nice thermal paste asus

Vram cooling, big improvement already
img0602yu.jpg

surprised at how big my actual pcb is
img0599ks.jpg

a fair few screws that attach to the heat sink and stability brackets

Cooler shot- not my image because i forgot to snap a full shot of the cooler up

but yeah, its a far better card and based around a voltage unlocked 7970DCII pcb, unfortunatley i can only get 1100 extreme burn stable, they cherry picked me a bad clocker i bet :D
