Howdy all,

I have just bought and installed an Asus EAH5850, decided to throw my lot in with dx11!

I have decided to get down to overclocking it using Asus smart doctor,

I have come across an interesting situation,

increasing the core clock to 790MHz has reduced the cards performance in furmark!

11243/60000ms @ 725/1000, 10856/60000ms @ 790/1000

any ideas anyone?

as this is my first post please be mercyful

cheers

upped voltage from 1.088-1.125V,

got core upto 832MHz, scored 11312/60000ms in furmark

starting to think the stock score was an erroneous result

gonna move to mem after getting max core at 1.15v

cheers for the advice

well when you find your max core you wont get your max mem as they need to be balanced between them one will go higher if the the other is lower

so you could get 900core 1100mem or 850core 1250mem

if you catch my drift, but saying that aslong as you are not twaeking every last Mhz out of them it shoulent realy matter.

you created a bottleneck as the mem was stock,100mhz+ is a good OC and will give good results i am shure
