Hi im trying to piece together a gaming rig as its been a while. I have a friend helping me get the new asus pq321 monitor for left kidney . So now i now i need to figure out a realistic gpu solution.

was debating on 4 770 4gb editions or 2 780s. i know either way this is going to be a vram hog. thoughts?

Dual titans dude. You need the ram. If there was a 6gb 780, it would be perfect... but there can NOT be a 6gb. I'm sure Nvidia locked the titan to being the only 6gb card. So go with dual titans dude.

there maybe but i doubt anytime soon and yeah i was afraid of that. 4 gb of vram i take isnt enough that sucks. well it is what is thx guys i guess im stuck with a pair of titans

It could maybe be enough, but I wouldn't push it. 4gb cards can struggle on 5760x1080, which is only 3/4 the resolution of 4k. So I would go for 6gb. And I'm sure Nvidia just basically said "NO 6GB 780'S!" to the board partners... Too much competition with the titan.

SLI Titans may finally find their match for pure horsepower. They will lose i'm afraid... Games may not support that res so you will end up using around 1440p i would think. If a game does support it then don't run AA as it's pointless beyond 1200p.

Oh, yeah. Both Linus and Newegg have done videos about that card. You actually get a reference card, and then the windforce cooler separate. You put it on yourself... The only way Nvidia will let them do it. I personally think if you're getting dual titans and a 4k monitor, you gotta watercool that.

Wonder where the :bs: came from

I know the 7970's don't have the same sort of power that the Titans and 780's have, but a couple of the 6GB versions overclocked should be fine, heck throw in a third if you can :P

But got to admit, if you can afford titans then get them, or have a look to see if any 6GB 780's are coming out soon.

you would be surprised how many games support that res. all of the ones i like do. I will be air cooling for now i know the common thought is well if he has the money for all that he can afford to water cool. well water cooling adds an extra 1200 usd which breaks budget. the gigabyte ive always had goodluck with it and besides you said it yourself its a stock pcb , so waterblocks can be added later on

ps i didnt see anything computex videos saying anything about a stock pcb one just goes on and on about triangle heat fins and a metal cover lol

That's one game lol. There are thousands out there, one won't make a difference and it certainly won't justify the price needed for the display and gpus.
