Arkham Origins headache!

Wraith

Bettyswollocks
I'm 5 minutes away from having a mental breakdown and threatening someone at WB Games.. I've hit a major road block in proceeding anywhere with this blasted game!

After defeating Bane (First time) then at the end of the cutscene where Joker is arrested I get the most annoying error and CTD, mid cutscene it freezes and I get the much hated "Ozzy" fatal error..

Things I've tried to rectify it:

Steam Launch options.
-d3d9
-safe

Editing the "AllowDX11" to false in the .ini file.

Validated all files.

Ran it in Windowed mode.

Ran with minimum graphics settings.

Given the game process priority.

and simply nothing will work I still get the same freeze and CTD at the same damn place, it's wound me up so much I'm at 21% game completion and "Was" really enjoying it. Any ideas or help to sort this would be greatly appreciated.

Been there. Hated it...
Supposedly it's something with the encoding of the cutscene vs drivers on your system.
Two ways are said to help

Windowed, All settings low, Disable all effects, Res 640X400 (DX on/off... can't say)

or

Check the net for a specific rar archive that went around containing the avi, xinput, (d3d and some other stuff) dlls together with a steam api dll.

Since this bug could be found not only in the PC version, but also XBox and PS3 i doubt that your PC is at fault

Nope! Problem fixed

It was either one of two things but solved non the less.
1. Shut down Corsair Link software or.
2. Deleted the graphics config file "BmEngine.ini" from the "SteamLibrary/SteamApps/Common/batman Arkham Origins/SinglePlayer/BMGame/Config" Directory.

Rebooted and tried again and sailed right past the crash point ;):)

Wraiths a happy gamer yet again, although WB should still be ashamed at this build.

Would be interesting to know what exactly solved it and how your current config file differs from the deleted. Perhaps something simple that was disabled by one of the effects? (As said this is a common problem, and if you found an easier solution as the ones above this could help a lot of people)

It's a very excellent point and I was already comparing them , they are identical except one piece which is right at the bottom of the original file.
