Like the titel says, i have a Apple screen, 27" and i do play on it. But my fps can drop very low some times.

Hardware that i use, is a HD 7970. And play on 2560 x 1440.

Will it help to get a card more ? Just to get that more power to my screen ?.

Regards

1440p is really demanding
do you really need 1440p? If not, just play at 1080
cheaper than a 2nd 7970

The this, that all my work is done on this screen. And that is music and have to program running all the time. So the screen is running that, but the problem is when i hit my games in my free time. It just feels like that i miss some horsepower in the game.

well you don't have to get a new monitor
just change the resolution in game and your frames should be fine

A second 7970 will be able to power 2560 x 1440 with ease. You could always turn down the settings and one 7970 should be fine.

I can do that, but then i fuck up all my things :P - And when i see 1080p, it look so big in my eyes ..

If you have the money to get another gpu and your motherboard supports it, get another card. I game at 2560x1600 and use 2x 670 4gb cards to ensure as near a constant 60fps as possible (vsync enabled, tearing on a 30" is horrid!). Works well, and gaming at such a high res is nice.

A 7970 should play WoW at 2560 x 1440 @ 60+ FPS easily. Update to the latest drivers.

I'am on the latest driver, and wow is not that big a problem. 50 fps is the lowest. But Farcry 3 and games like bf3 can hurt my fps hard ..

if you don't wanna turn the settings down the obvious answer is you're gonna have to lay down some cash on another card. Otherwise, turn the settings/resolution down. You can't have your cake and eat it buddy.

I know mate, but then i need fine a 7970 ref card and then i need to change my build plans. But dont mind that ;)

Far Cry 3 does not use more than one GPU so don't waste your money. It's a poo game IMO certainly not worth buying anything for.

Far Cry 3 can use 2 GPUs if set correctly, and it makes those cards sweat at 2560x1600 eye candy on! 1 card at 84c 97% utilised, the other 80c at 95% utilised (vsync enabled, game graphics set just below the cusp so it doesn't max out the cards, otherwise microstutter raises it's ugly head). I use Rainmeter on another screen to monitor temps so I can see these details. Interesting also is that the vram breaches the 2gb mark some times, but not very often.

As for the game being poo, I thought it was okay once I got in to it. I certainly wouldn't spend the cash of another video card just to play it, but the OP will benefit in other games.

I have 2 670ftws OCD and water cooled nicely doesn't get over 50c but far cry 3 I get mega microstutter on my 1440 my optimal preset is the same as the ultra preset with 1 frame buffer I do get stutter. And crashing a good bit. It's just a fantastic game that isn't finished and needs a lot of work to get it to run nice consistently
