Anything missing / needs changing with this?

e6400 could possibly give you better results depending on what your board feels like putting out in the FSB department. It's going to need to push the 400+ barrier with the e6300 to achieve 100% OC. Depending on the chip, the e6400 might be the best option as you have a bit of wiggle room not needing quite as high of FSB to achieve the same OC as you would with the 6300.

ve decided on a e6300 (overclock as far as i can) on a p5b deluxe (asus for stability and better ram tolerance) with a tuniq tower 120 (http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/info_2604.html) hopefully the asus heatsink wont obstruct it and gonna get some arctic silver 5

Looks like a great setup mate, that will defintely suit you will. Should be able to tear up the benchies with that baby too.

Keep us updated on the progress as you get the parts in :)

You should also start a new build thread for this beastly rig.

its my first build and will be my first overclock - when i do set about building any building guides u recommend on the web?

um how long would my e6300 last after overclocking it

also as the e6400 is already higher would this mean if i overclocked it to say 3.2ghz and the same with the e6300, would it last longer?
