You could probably get a Rasa 120 kit for about £120 - might be worth a look at. H50 might also be viable if you can set it up right, and you'd save about £50 over the NH-14.

Neither of those beat the D14 dude. And the ThermalTACKY Frio is pure deafening fail.

The only problem I have with the silver arrow is the size. It is even bigger than the D14, also it does reach the temperatures of the D14, but it doesn't beat it, rather it gets beaten in most tests.

fans can be changed, and come on, at the end of the day if you spend more time looking at and thinking about the colour of your fans than you do the temps they are giving you something is wrong.

my 2 cents. d14, silver arrow, h70, will all give you good temps (as will a couple of other top tier coolers) and you should buy the one you want in your case

pfft, the D14 has too many benefits as a complete package to have anything compete with it fairly.

Arguments could be had for switching out fans on other tower coolers - but tbh with the NH-D14 you buy it and don't have to mess about.

You won't be able to beat the Noctua atm with any other air cooler and there is a vid that Tom did that prooves the Noctua beats the Silver Arrow so NO you won't do better unless you water cool.

The reviews I've seen where the silver arrow beats the D14 where all done on test benches.

Tom did his comparisons in a case and the silver arrow failed one of the tests where the D14 passed them all.

To me, looking at the above it looks like it depend in what environment you are running the coolers in as to which one is "better".

Unless by better you mean that the fans go with more mobo's than just the sabertooths

silver arrow is not better than NH-D14 i've tested both and NH-D14 is top dog period.
