I built this rig about 3 years ago when i was a complete noob. So much regret.

CPU: Pentium e6700 @3.8 Hz
Cooler: H80
Ram: 4GB generic DDR2
GFX: Gigabyte GTX460 OC edition
PSU: OCZ Fatal1ty 550W
Case: CM storm scout

Guys this rig is so funny, im suprised it even runs FC3 and BF3 tbh. Its still chugging along slowly but surely. I cannot wait till i get myself a 3570k.

So i was just wondering if anyone out there is still running a 775 board

Just for benching :P

Technology has moved on so much now that it doesn't make sense to run on 775 anymore unless you have a q9550 or the likes which are still half decent chips. I'm running on a Phenom II and that is starting to feel old now :P

This is my main rig :( I will probably turn this rig into a FOLDING@HOME machine when i upgrade tbh. It seems like the right thing to do IMO

I guess so, it will be a on a 550w PSU. I was thinking bitcoin mining but i really would rather do something valuable to the world

Yeah I am stuck with a relatively old rig, but on AMD. Hopefully we'll be upgrading soon and end this terrible nightmare.

I wanted to upgrade over the summer if i got a job but that never happened. I just can't wait untill i can render things in cinema4D in under a day

my current rig is q6600 at 3.0ghz 2gb xms2 cas 4 ddr2 ram p5n-d and 7900gtx does what i want it too play's dvds/bluerays and my kids games etc..

but im lucky i won 2nd on this years christmas comp and it will be the 1st time in 5 years ive upgraded my rig :D

Good god yes.

My current file/media/download server is Q9400 based, ubuntu.
My "mac" is also Q9400. (currently rebuilding a Q9450 to replace it)
G/f's computer is a Q9400.
Media computer downstairs is an E8500.

In the to-build list:
Game server, probably E8500 based.
Media/Workstation/Conversion X9650 and a bunch of cuda cards.

All with 4g or 8g DDR2/3, overclocked nicely of course. SSDs etc.

Only i7 rig I got I play games on. Don't turn it on too much.

Got masses of 775 stuff, cpus, memory. Dwindling number of decent mATX mobos still out there. Latest one of choice is the MSI Q41m P25.

My younger bro uses a 775 socket still (not by choice... our parents don't "understand" why he would need another computer when that one is ONLY 5 years old >.>). It's an old Dell XPS 410 model that I updated the BIOS on to accept a q6600 chip with a GTX 560 card O.C. to 835 Mhz or so and 4 GB of Mushkin DDR2 (our parents, in all of their infinite wisdom, got him the Windows 7 UPGRADE cd, which will not update XP 32-bit to 7 64-bit... tried everything... so it only registers 3 gigs of ram lololol). He rocks it still, it's showing it's age though and there's nothing I can do with even the case it's got since it mounts everything backwards AND utilizes a motherboard with a proprietary design to it.
