Anyone out there still on a 775?

My old rig is a 775 rig. I built it maybe 6-7 years ago. It has the ASUS P5WD2E-Premium board with a Pentium D 805! Have only had to upgrade the GPU and power supply. Has a 550W OCZ Fatality PSU, ATI Radeon X1900XT, 500gb hd and its in a CM Elite 330 case. The chip has ran an OC of 3.6GHz since build and it's still running strong!
Oh, I upgraded the Ram as well to 2x2Gb of Corsair Vengeance DDR2

I'm still on a slightly aging AM3 rig, but it should be being upgraded towards summer this year :)

Home server/Bro's rig is a i3 540, with a HD3850, so some aging tech in there too ~

EDIT : Also, what's up with everyone recently going on about 775 rigs..? Tom posts one request and everyone instantly goes 775 crazy :PP

I have quite a few old bits. A few P4's, a P3, a G5 powermac and an AMD 64 Athlon ect...

.. Plus the 2 P4 rigs that are in use :P

Just built a 775 system this weekend

775 cpu's were/are great processors...The problem is not being able to find replacement motherboards for them:

I just threw a system together this weekend to set up in another room to use as a spare rig.

I used extra parts that I had laying around, and most parts that I got for free:

Motherboard: Asus P5N-D - My son gave me this board after Santa brought him a new Asus P8P67-Pro board.
Processor: Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor E8400 - I got 2 of these out of Dell office computers that were out of warranty and were going to be disposed of, Also got 2 - 250 gb 7200 sata2 hard drives
Ram: 8 gb - Courtesy of Corsair from a bad 2gb kit that was rma'd and they no longer make so they replaced it with 2-4gb kits..cost me $6.00 to ship the bad kit to them..not a bad deal for a kit that was at least used for 6 years.
Graphics Card: EVGA GTX 285 that I purchased when they first came out.
SSD: OCZ Vertex 2 128 for OS

The rig is running great and I am getting ready to install a few games on it today.

Pretty ballin' 775 rig that :D

And a fantastic deal on the ram!

Thanks Guys,

Crucial also has a great service/rma policy...I had one bad 512 stick out of 4 sticks that were at least 6 years old, and they sent me back 4 - 1 gb sticks as a replacement.

I ended up with alot of extra ddr2 ram at one time, but ended up using all of it over the last year...All I have left is 2-1gb sticks.

Ron
