Looking at this one for the missus to use (well, I say for her, but it's to keep her off my pc and I guess I'll use it too).

budget is 500 notes.

Dell are gr8 value 4 money (just try each base combo)

esp comming to the christmas season

i priced a gaming spec (8600 -- 2gb -- C2d -- 1440*900) lappy for 539 yesterday

I looked @ ur links -- laptops of that ilk wld be cheaper with Dell

the second one is faster of the two in terms of CPU

but for GPU, couldnt tel ya, x2300 and 7300go. im leaning towards 2300 but let someone else confirm

It pains me to say it also but Dell laptops are amazing value for what you get

doesn't need to be uber quick. as i say, it's for the missus so it wont be a gaming rig, just internet and excel / word docs. image manipulation and storing a few choons. and obviously, folding

i'll have a butchers at dell. i used to have a c600 when i was working in IT and it was a good solid machine. id prefer to have xp on it and also dedicated graphics memory so i'll see what i can get from dell for the same price.

I have a latitude 5150 and it's a stonking machine for £400 I paid for it...2GHz X2, 2GB RAM, X1150 onboard VGA, wifi, 15" very clear bright screen...can't beat it tbh

No a while ago but you can check on offer websites and Dell's site, they always have random "deals" on
