Hi

Are there any bargain sites out there for hardwares. Help I'm on a tight budget to build a new PC. Thanks :(

aria: Amen ;)

This is where I could help quite a lot of people :)

Make sure you sign up - you usually only have an hour or so before they sell out... typical deals are 7200 HDD 200GB for £65, SATA

http://www.amazon.co.uk

I know Amazon never used to be cheap, but it seems to me currently they have some silly prices on certain things - I think they maybe either a) trying to sell the business or b) clearing some space

Here comes an unexpected couple....

http://www.lidl.co.uk

http://www.aldi.co.uk

I know you might think these are cheap Scandinavian tat shops, but from time to time they suddenly come up with good offers... for instance, recently Aldi had a firewire 160gb external drive for £89.99

I've got a pile of bargain forms I could link to, but I'll let XMS know if I can post them here.... definitely some bargains to be had anyway

I'll post more sites when I remember them....

Oh and don't forget that http://www.bigpockets.co.uk and http://www.svp.co.uk might be media suppliers mostly but they also sell the odd bit of hardware at pretty good prices

I have absolutely NO affiliation with any of the above companies (and have not offered any affiliated links)... just offering some help.

Can vouch for scan being honest and reliable as well as reasonably well priced. Had some stuff tehy sent me break recently and they sorted it very quickly, was slightly disconcerting to have my emails answered within a couple of hours, i'm more used to waiting a week or so and then having to spend half an hour waiting in a phone queue..

Not had problems with ebuyer, but have had problems with citylink who they use to deliver.

lowestontheweb were quick + painless but not had to test out their returns procedure.

hi the following site might also be worth a look at below a word of warning though this site doesnt seem to like firefox so you may have to use ie to view it.

http://www.acecomputers.org.uk

also it worth goining to yell.com and putting in computers and searching for whrere you live it will then say us find computers with a big list just make your way down the list you might me shocked what you find!

i always use ebuyer for my bits, find their price good and their returns for faulty goods is also excellent.

From your account you can look back to when the item was ordered etc and if it is still under warranty. This is good for mail order products.

I tend to just go straight to ebuyer.

They were a bit pricey when they started, with their habit of always printing VATless prices in adverts, but they've grown and seem to have the UK bits market sorted.

Ocassionly I'll check out Redstore or CCL for comparisons.
