Another PC valuation :)

I might be selling my current PC to my parents to replace their crappy one, although I don't want to rip them off and likewise I don't want to cut my own throat

I really have no idea what the value retention of second hand pc goods is so if you would be so kind I need some idea of how much I should ask for it.

The spec:

Asus P4C800-e deluxe

Northwood P4 2.8GHz HyperThreaded (clocked to 3.2)

2560Mb Crucual XMS Mem

Seagate 120Gb IDE

Radeon X850 XT 256Mb

Lian Li Case

LG DVD-RW 16x

Cheers

I think you probably already know that 2nd hand PC stuff is worth peanuts but sometimes going by ebay prices - even ancient stuff can fetch amazing money!

If you wanna do it semi scientfically then have a trawl trhough ebay for similar kit to get an idea of how much it's worth.

From the list and my gut feel I'd say the bits would be worth between 200 and 300 GBP.

Personally ide say between £150 and £250

But the Li Lian case will up the price alot.. seeing as how can a case lose much value.. Doesn't really go out of date..

lol, unless it is that horrid whitish colour.. :D

i would say £75 - £100

depends what lian li case it is though

i would guess a PC60 or 7 so still no more than £150 - £200 tops. Might be able to up it a bit with a few extras e.g. games etc

remember that this is 4 generations old tech

i bought a 939 system for 100 quid

this isnt worth asmuch as that..

Seems to me that if it is going to mom & dad it should be free. Including shipping, installation, and tech support for life. Now if we were talking about brother/sister I'd say take that look around Ebay, then DOUBLE THE PRICE!!! :haha:
