Another new monitor question

Hi I've just joined the forum. I'm getting the upgrade itch and want to get a new monitor for gaming. Would this be a good choice Iiyama ProLite GB2488HSU-B1? I really would like to get a 144hz monitor rather than 60hz and 1080p is fine. I should say at the moment I have a radeon 5850 and this will be getting upgraded too, I'm just waiting to see what the gtx 960 has to offer. Would love to get a gtx 970 but I just can't justify it for a single monitor.

Another question is there any benefit in using display port for a single display or is dvi ok? So if dvi is ok another choice would be the BenQ XL2411Z. If you could give me your thoughts it would be appreciated.

Sorry forgot to add my budget would be about £250 max but obviously if there's a good choice for cheaper that would be great.

Not a great deal of point getting a 144hz monitor when your GPU wont be able to push things to 144 FPS dude..... Unless you have everything turned down of course and then in my eyes youre missing the point
