Unfortunately it's way past a point of fixing. Criminals will always have guns, by removing guns from the street you're just making the innocent vulnerable. If I lived in a state that permitted it I would carry a weapon without a doubt, and probably in states that didnt depending on the seriousness of possession charges.
And we forget that in a lot of america, guns are a necessary means of defense against wildlife like bears. Along with that, hunting is part of the culture and if I cant disagree with cultural practices of other races then nobody has any right to take that away from them.
I'm tempted to say like 'prevent distribution of firearms to idiots' but thats saying that your right to protect yourself and family depends on your IQ.
I'd be interested to know if anywhere in america requires people to go through a lengthy training and education course to obtain a license to buy a gun?
