Wal-Mart to Exclusively Support Blu-ray

Wal-Mart has confirmed with Blu-ray.com that beginning in June the world's largest retailer will only stock Blu-ray players and movies. Over the next few months, they will phase out all HD DVD products and reorganize their stores to focus on Blu-ray.

Price will dictate the long term winner.

Blu ray does appear to be a clear leader at present and may well come through til the end but if HD goes down in price and becomes significantly cheaper then demand will go back up. Too early to say, is no different than the dvd + - and ram mediums we had going on, the cheapest not best quality was the winner out of those.

Imo it will be tough with so many large producers now exclusively supporting Blu Ray.
