Youngie, you need to experience working for a **** of a company to appreciate the sentiment behind strike action mate

I hope to god I won't have to work for one :D. I guess as I get into my proper career I'll become more aware of the actions taken by employees. Right now life is good for me so I see no need :).

But who would arrest them?? Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!

:p

The police cannot strike, it's actually illegal iirc

lol stu beat me to it. Can't remember which act it is though, my Law A level was too long ago :p

The unions still have a part to play today Rasta. I do agree though that they are merely a shambles when compared to the days when they really mattered.

Agreed.

I just have too many personal experiences of them not acting when they should and acting for nothing reasons. Almost as if they pick and chose what's good for the select and not as the whole.

Having said that, there's only 3 unions, the postal being one of them, that I've had experiences with, I doubt they're all the same.

I think the worst thing I ever saw or heard about regards the Unions was during the Liverpool Dockers strikes, and the TGWU sold them out. I have been a member of UNISON and the TGWU myself, and I think they are too wrapped up with getting on the good side of the companies management nowadays to be bothered with what's happening on the shop floor.
