Ok guys, just installed my IC7 MAX3 finally and boot her up.

The entire system stalls on the P4EE logo! Wont even go into the BIOS when I hit delete. Whats going on? Any ideas on how to solve this at all? I'm a little miffed off with it doing this because of the amount of time I've spent today putting the thing together only for it not to work .

Help me pleeeeease,

Cheers

Ok this is a joke!! I think sod it I'll leave the machine turned on and see what happens, no less than 5 min later, the system boots into the already installed XP pro!!! Whats goin on here? I can't figure out y its taking so long to do POST!

Ok, mobo flashed using FlashMenu with v18 BIOS but still the same thing happens. I think it's taking ages to figure out what CPU i have which is odd for a high end CPU to not be recognised. Once it finds the CPU it goes thru like a rocket.

The Mach 2 firmware is already at the most recent so can't update that, also doubt it would make a diff on the boot times.

Any one got any ideas?

this maybe a silly idea but heck you temps in the bios if they are high disable the thermal cut out etc

have you reinstalled windows because it will try and load drivers for hardware that doesnt exsist which causes conficts try it in safe mode mate

Cheers guys :).

All drivers are loaded, all thermal shut downs and throttling disabled (that i can see). The temps in the BIOS are around -15. This only happens when I power the system up or restart. It seems to take ages to do the POST and then once it finally finishes with that it flies through everything else. It's very strange and annoying :(.

It's tempting me to go back to the P4P800 but I really dont like that board cos it's not Canterwood lol. I got this board specifically for the chipset and its seems to have problems running. My mate has the same board no probs, and Arterion has the IC7-G, no problems. It seems to just be me with this EE chip.

Keep the ideas coming, right now I'll try anything that doesn't invlove spending money lol.

Well thats the thing. I dont actually have any way to test it on air as I don't have any form of heatsink what so ever :o. Ever since my Mach 1 I havnt bothered with buying retail chips and havn't actually owned a heatsink for a few years because I've been on water cooling.

I was tempted to try my old waterchill kit but I have no idea where the CPU block is. I'll upload some piccys later of what the system is doing for 5min and see if that helps :).
