Anime Thread

Anyone who's watching or going to watch the new Berserk anime? I think I'll give it a watch tonight. I hear it's slightly disappointing, though.

Edit: Just watched the first episode. I can see why people are disappointed tbh. Some animations are poorly done, and the framerate is quite choppy at times. I got the idea the creators really rushed this anime (or at least this episode). Still, I'll probably keep watching this. I don't really get it yet, but the story seems interesting. There's quite a bit of gore too, if that's your thing.

Now I am. Thank you for mentioning it. I wasn't even aware that was a thing. How does it compare to the Movie Trilogy that was released in the last years?

I honestly never watched Berserk before

It's been something I've wanted to get into for a while, but I've been busy with school and such. I do have the original anime ready to be watched, and I plan on doing so in the next few weeks! I hear the movies are pretty much summaries of the original anime.

Afaik, the new anime is a continuation of the Berserk story (I read it starts right after the 'Golden Age-arc'). I liked the first episode, even though I didn't really understand the plot. Definitely looking forward to episode 2!

I watched the first anime series and own and watched the trilogy on disc. They somewhat overlap. I'm "fairly" up to date on the manga series. The release schedule is very erratic so it can be tedious to stay on top.
There was a game on the dreamcast that was quite nice and apparently there is a new game coming.

I see, it seems I have some catching up to do then!
Btw, before you start watching the new anime, a lot of Berserk fans apparently hate the new anime. It's CGI, so it looks kind of weird too. Still, as a newbie, I enjoyed it.

In other news; Attack on Titan Season 2 has FINALLY been officially announced for spring 2017!
