AMD's RX 480 will cost $199

The NDA lifts the 29th. I can't wait to see the AIB cards. Some of the things I have heard coming down the line might be some exciting stuff.

I'd just like to know how much OC headroom it has. Sure stock may be equal to a 390x, but OC the chip like crazy (FinFET) and it'll easily surpass it

I assume for it to overclock well you'll have to get a decent aftermarket card, which will probably cost you 250-300$ (8GB that is). Not sure if that's really worth it.

Never know, AMD could have even scimmped somewhere and just gave it a decent bumping clock speed.

Would have to wonder what yields would be like though.

Also given the TDP the reference cooler could perhaps cope with some OC. Obviously we don't know exactly how good the cooler is, one can hope though.

I am honestly tempted to buy 2 of these though and put waterblocks on them but i'll be sensible and wait for the reviews first.

I have a couple family members who want to get into PCs/upgrade and all are on a budget. At $200 if it reviews well, it's extremely hard to pass up. Nothing in that price range will come close to that performance level(not including about the 1060 since we have no idea what it will be). It's more of just an entry into VR, it's a really good choice for entry into PC gaming as well or people who have waited a long time/couldn't upgrade before. This is what AMD is aiming for afterall, the biggest market segment, sure margins are smaller, but sell enough and smaller margins can overtake it. Well that's if AMD don't mess it up somehow.
