Why though ? Development mistake or did I miss something ?
Did you not read the article?
I did I must have glanced over it, Odd that they would do it that way though.
Yeah. It's pretty stupid. For all the genius that took to create Zen... I'm dumbfounded they made this mistake.
Sure a 5C offset, no big deal, 20? Who the **** made that choice? That's 20% of its thermal operating range if not more!( Based off the 0-100C but it is probably more than 20%)
I know I am probably way off the mark, but maybe it has something to do with the 8c 16t and the Wraith cooler? maybe they did it so it revs its nuts off?
As I say, probably wrong but it's the only plausible reason I can think of for a mess up of such magnitude.
The 1800x and 1700x dont come with wraith coolers, they expect you to put aios or stronger on them.
Not atm no but they will be. And an even smaller stock cooler too (the round one).
No dont think so, the biggest wraith im pretty sure is for the 1700 none x, then the one down is for the r5's and then the smallest for the r3.
You sure?

Ryzen 7, small cooler.
Yeah but that picture is on the 1800x on OCUK.
Do all retail 1700's come with that cooler, or can you get the CPU alone? I'm eyeing that bad boy in about a month or 2 (when motherboards are widely available in Canuckistan, and hopefully a lot less buggy), and I sure as hell don't want that cooler.
