Hi guys.

Basically I have just given my old system to my step son. as he is 6 and should be learning about PC's by now lol.

But I wanted to give it a bit more juice. as the CPU runs at 2.7ghz, and was hoping to get at least 3ghz from it.

Being the black edition chip i didnt think this would be much hassle at all. So went into the bios and used a simple overclock I found on the web after a google search.

300 FSB X 10 multiplier.

should of been a nice simple 3.0ghz. But the computer failed to boot, and I got the Bios set to safemode message when it started.

so then I tried upping the Vcore to 1.375. and the same again.

I have always had AMD chips, and have always been able to overclock them with ease. so could this just be that the gigabyte m52L-s3 is just completly useless at holding anykind of overclock?

not all works at 300fsb lol best I can get from my 1090t is 280ish try lowering it to say 250ish and try upping the multi til it crashes again then back it down also need to tweak more than just the vcore ur mem changes also with the fsb so make sure its in a good spot

Cheers buddy that sorted it, totaly forgot about the ram. when i checked it, it was putting the ram at well over 2000mhz, not bad for ddr2 lol But I have set it now so the CPU is running at 3ghz, and the ram is a nice 1000mhz, as it is only 800mhz ram installed, so an extra boost in ram and cpu power.

Thanks for that. He might get more than 50fps in metro 2033 now lol.
