AMD Reveils Quad Core CPU's

It's taken a while but I reckon this is gonna be a good 'un. And will probably be released not long after I upgrade to c2d.

Just like with the C2D, the proof is in the pudding. I wanna see benchmarks before I hear any talk of being '40% faster than the competition'. The C2D delivered, let's see AMD walk the walk.

That said, I have long been an AMD fan so I hope this is true.:D The seperate clocks per core sounds especially nice, max OC on a couple for the games and leave the other two to deal with other duties... keeping the temps down and the speed up.

Nice find Yeungster ;)

This sounds like AMD's saviour IF performance is as good as they claim it will be. I would buy a new rig based on this architecture if I could get a 40% increase over a Q6700/Q6600 (my proposed future upgrade).

The features sound incredible.

TJS (or anyone) - do you think that will really be possible? I'm curious because I was not aware you could 'force' an app to use a specific core (other than changing affinity in prime95) so say you OC core 1&2 leaving 3&4 at stock, how could you make the games run on core 1&2 whilst making anything else run on 3&4?

A spot of speculation anyone?

How to make me look dumb in 5 words! I thought you could only set priority in there, well, you live and learn. Cheers vadeR ;)

With this new found knowledge I'm pretty excited about this chip!

Frag im so glad you had me get that setup. When i buy a K10 my machine is going to OWN!!!

I know, u lucky little SOB!! :p Now I'm gonna want it.... But I musn't, and I can't and yeah, NO!!!! Say no to spending money.

Gotta start saving money, yeah, but some of my stuff still needs to be upgraded... like my 17" Samsung LCD. It's great, no dead pixels in two and a half years, 8ms for gaming... but I would really like a 22" monitor, that OCZ RAM cooler that Frag had on his phased rig... no K10 in the near future. oh well:rolleyes:
