AMD releases statement on Radeon RX 7900 XTX MBA thermal issues

So where is this so called statement released to customers?

Link, Source ?

So in fact this is a statement to media, AMD haven't got the balls to contact their customers directly and the media haven't got the balls to pull them up on it (worried they might not get their review samples if they shout too loud) :) :p :( ^_^

Uhm how would AMD know about every card sold by every retailer in the world? You think AMD magically has access to all customer information of every retailer and store in the world? That is som CIA/MOSSAD type spycraft right there. And if you work at any manufacturer of anything you would know that don't contact customers that don't have the issue with a product, that's begging everyone regrets their purchase for any reason to put in an RMA request.

AMD sold most of the affected cards directly via their online store (only MBA cards are affected).

They are aware of the issue for more than 2 weeks according to Powercolor.

When a newish car has an issue, the dealership calls or sends you an email to come in and get a fix for free.

Why is it that every time AMD try and diss Nvidia something like this happens?

Last time was with Vega, which turned out to be total poop.

Just so you know, MBA cards can be sold via retailers and online stores as well. MBA just means reference design by AMD that they make and is distributed to retailers for sale. So it can be an impossible task to have AMD be the ones to reach out to every consumer across the world who bought one.

I'm not sure what the alternative is for a better solution

You can't buy directly from AMD in the UK any way, so any "reference" cards would have been sold by AIBPs, whether they made them or not.

This is going to be fun for vendors.

The problem I see is that everybody is saying AMD have made an official announcement, including OC3D, but that is a lie. Even WYP is not capable of providing a source for his information in his news post, he just did a copy paste from twitter hoping for some clicks.

AMD have only emailed some private media outlet with comments but they didn't make any official announcements to their customers who have bought from their AMD store or who bought from MBA partners.

I have a 7900 XTX in my case right now bought from AMD store and its hot as fu**.
