Nice! Sounds like some actual competition for the nVidia Quadro range (obviously not the 6000). That will kick the 580 out of the water...though I'm reckoning the 595 will be some fierce competition for the 6990. We'll see.

I want to see what the GTX 590 offer's in a bench test comparison the 6990 vs GTX 590.
It won't be a fair comparison at all. The 590 from the tech specs appears to have 2 GTX580 while the 6990 has 2 HD6970. The 6970 is both priced and performs on par with the 570, so there will not only be like $200 separating the two, but a fair performance difference.

I've heard Crossfire has bad driver support from high end tech's in the field.
Which make's me wonder if the 6990 is even worth it at all.
True just in spec wise it's insane.
But without proper support utilizing all that potential it get's kinda watered down don't you think?

While it was true that the 5000 series didn't scale that well. the new 6000 series cards scale extremely well, even better than nVidia, even than two 6970s won't stand up to two 580s, especially when overclocked.

I think for myself personally I am going to wait to see the bench test's.
And Market price's before I buy either or of the GTX 590 or 6990.

I'm in no rush seeing as how my car I sold.
The money for it won't be in for another month or two.
The 6990 cannot cost more than 2 6970s. I am thinking $650. The 590 cannot be over $800 for it to sell well or it will become another Asus Ares.
