AMD Radeon 7870- Power/ heat - Performance

Pretty nice performance. So this will compete against the 560/Ti im guessing?. I am annoyed by the prizing by amd, as the new cards should be 100-150£ less

. This just makes me wanna buy Nvidia even more

im sorry but i dont agree with that at all, overclocked it matches a 7950, standard it supposedly performs on par with a gtx 580 and puts out a lot less heat and consumes less power @ £100 less so i do not see why they cant charge that much for the card.

if anything nvidia should drop the gtx 580 prices

Totally agree. Its power and heat make it a good card anyway and the performance compared to other AMD and Vidya cards make it an awesome buy. It easily competes with the 570 and 580 let alone a 560Ti.

This i noticed today.Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 2GB GDDR5 is to be sold for the danish market at 2799dkr=313£.UK prices will be 20-30£ less, maybe 289£ i think.

Hope those prices will drop with the release of NV cards.. looking to build a new rig in April and performance-wise these are perfect but my budget will only allow about 250 euros for a GPU.

Imho 350 euros for what's placed as a "midrange" card is OTT.

yeah the performance is better than the 560ti and over or on pair with the 580, but what i ment was that this is a middle range card, similar to the 560/ti 6870/6950. And the point is that i think its too expencive. It cost the same as the 5870 at launch and that was the top single gpu card.

If Intel started to charge 450-500£ for the launch of the 3770k just because of less heat, less powerdraw and better performance i would hate that just as mucth as what amd are doing now.

If people are willing to pay silly amounts of money, thats fine by me.
