Like what? I know there is side missions and such but I personally just played to campaign like an fps, blowing up anything I saw, maybe you don't like it, but you just can't deny that Far Cry 3 is a spectacular game
Yeah, I can deny it dude. Firstly there's the radio towers. Going around doing pointless crap gets tedious. It's just like the diamonds crap in FC2.
Then there's the crafting that's been added which IMO totally detracts from the game. It continually makes you stop what you're doing and have to piss around finding animals to hunt so you can take their skins just to carry more stuff.
Whilst I like it when new stuff is introduced into games to make them better I do argue that adding stuff from World Of Warcraft does not add to the game.
In essence Far Cry 3 is a FPS. However when you start adding in side quests that are completely boring and yawnsome (like finding the same radio towers the game over) it starts to grate and detract from the game.
Then there's the crafting and levelling up on the crafting which work in games such as Fallout 3 as the ways of doing it are far more diverse and interesting. However in Far Cry 3 it's just the same thing repeated over and over and over.
It's not just me who felt this way about it tbh. A few reviewers picked it out and pointed out that they had actually stopped playing it because the game continually dragged them away from the stunning visual feast in order to partake in boring side quests and rubbish.

There you go, that pretty much explains it all. In the original Far Cry what you saw was what you got. You could work your way around the island in pretty much any order you liked and exploring was encouraged. Far Cry 3 manages to keep annoyingly stopping you in your tracks and forcing you to partake in a load of insipid nonsense.
This game definitely seems to have completely split the gaming audience so if you enjoyed it then fair play to you
