AMD Dual Cores Shipping in Volume

AMD has announced that its dual cores will be ship[ping in volume today, according to Bit-Tech

the CPU's are not cheap - starting at $537 for the 4200+, and going up to $1001 for the top of the line 4800+.

Sooooo-maybe these should be in Frags budget? hehe

you should be able to purchase one from your favorite online retailer within the next week or so. AMD have dubbed the release of its dual core CPUs 'The Death of the Hour Glass', and after extensively testing the Athlon 64 X2 4800+, we believe that this day is not too far away at all.

Yeah that would be nice....threading a couple of heavy apps at a time (F@H on both cores). I won't be touching these but all who I've looked at seem to think that AMD will get some more reasonably priced chips out by the end of the year, and then we OC them to the same as the expensive ones and everyone's happy!!
