AMD/ATI Launch new 4600 Series

The 4870 will feature 512MB of GDDR3 memory, with a 1Gb version scheduled for release later this month. The 4850 also features 512MB of memory, but AMD have used GDDR2.

Sorry to point this out (unless i'm missing something) but isn't that kind of old news or just plain wrong in the case of the 4850? Do you mean that the 4650 will have 512MB GDDR2 and the 4670 will have 512MB-1GB GDDR3?

Sorry if I am being an idiot

Seen how these perform in Crossfire? They're stepping into 4850 territory! :o These are putting some serious power into the HTPC/midrange bracket and with a passive heatsink on they would be the ideal silent solution.

I was wondering about incorporating a 4670 into my next build (Dad's PC) but turns out my budget will be a bit bigger, so I'm thinking a 9800GTX+ for about £130 isn't a bad investment, even if it is going on a P45 board. If I was being budget conscience, then these seem much better than a 9500. I look forward to the review.

Apology accepted:D:D

Nah, it was a typo, and I have duly corrected it. Thanks for the heads up:)

Hmmm..

If the price is right and depending on driver support I might get one of these for my Linux box. :)
