AMD aims to create a GPU with RTX 4080 performance for £500 with RDNA 4

Then in that case best lower them 7900xtx prices down to £500 now then right ?

This 8000 series is a skip for me, it's the 9000 series I'm interested in most and the reason is full chiplet and working, but I'll not lie they can release the 8000 class cards and I'll happily pick up a 2nd hand 7900xtx cause at £400 yep a deal.

I strongly, strongly doubt this is true.

As in the price. AMD are just as greedy as every one else.

IMHO it's rebrands and outing old stock before the next generation, they just aren't ready for the bigger step yet on having not only chiplet memory cache etc but also chiplet dies for the GPU part.

So highly expect rebrands and maybe one newer card that sits at the top in like a 7900XT price point.

But 9000 series if they iron out the issues they have had with full chiplet, well it'll be very good indeed.

I doubt it will be a rebrand.

From the sound of it it is probably either a shrink or they just found a way to make it cheaper. As in manufacture it.

The problem, as always, will be the companies selling it. They just can't resist that urge to be greedy.

To me? it marred the 7800XT. It is priced far higher than it should be, higher than it was for the first few days. Meaning they saw it getting positive reviews and jacked up the prices.

Which to me? it just ruins the whole experience. Which is why I have shied away from buying a lot of hardware. When greed is at play I just don't feel happy buying things.

But yeah, it won't surprise me if this $500 mysteriously ends up being $650. AMD have not done anything even resembling nice for a long time.

yea it'll be shrunk but to me it's the same thing just a rebrand not new ark or anything.

amd will sell at 500 on the site everywhere else 550 all aibs 600 just how that plays out tbh these days.

9000 series is when things get serious or it'll show chiplet is a slower work in progress than i'd like.
