Got the same chip.
3.4 is enough for me and enough for most games.
My problem is when I enable AMD overdrive the fan starts spinning up and idling every 5 seconds. Sounds like a car revving it's engine and it's pissing me off tbh
First of all,what cpu-cooler do you have???

Stock. When I first installed it Windows 7 told me the cpu fan isn't working properly and I 'need to restart immediately' my MOBO sucks also.
The 1090T cpu's are only £160 from ebuyer

Maybe you need to update bios,the 1090t isnt supported before bios-update 1602
And the 965be c3 need bios-update 1003

My mobo is a Saphire mobo and its up to date.
Moving swiftly back to my problem. My bios is up to date.
I've managed to get to 3.8Ghz stable but my goal is 4Ghz stable. Heres my CPUZ read-out.

Sorry m8,this cooler isnt enough,just read some rewievs again on this one.You need something much better,recomend noctua nh-d14.Expensive but worth it.
How are you overclocking? Are you adding to the BUS speed or upping the multiplier?
Upping both is the best way to achieve 4 g's. It's best to raise the BUS speed as high as you can on stock voltage to find the max number e.g. 237.
Then what ever you get to, tweak the multiplier to get as close to 4 g's as possible e.g. 237 base x 17 multiplier = 4029 Mhz freq. Remembering to add more volts gently until the O/C is stable enough for you.
With voltage, I personally keep the "vCore"/"Core voltage" the same as the "CPU/NB voltage". e.g. 1.450v etc etc.
RAM voltage, apply what ever is recommended by the manafacturer and stick to stock speeds, if you wish to o/c the RAM do so after you get the stable CPU o/c.

Hi mate, i have the same board as you, i find its great, i've got my Phenom 2 x2 555 to 4.1ghz at 1.55v as a test a while ago. just upped the multi.
