Amazing service from Dell

I think I've just had the best customer service experience ever.

I bought a Dell 2408WFP monitor 3 years ago from an Ebay reseller.

The monitor power supply died after about 18 months and Dell did a next day replacement with a brand new 2408.

Recently the replacement monitor had begun to show intermittent coloured vertical artifact lines all the way up the screen on the right hand side (apparently a common fault on this model).

Phoned Dell yesterday afternoon and got straight through to the monitor TS. I briefly described the problem and. without any hassle, she told me a replacement monitor would be here today and that the courier would take away the old one, unboxed and I could keep all the cables etc. TBH I was expecting a like-for-like refurb.

The courier arrived first thing this morning with, to my surprise, a brand new in box U2410 Rev A05 monitor (date of manufacture Mar 11) with all the cables etc.

So a new £450+ replacement after 3 years. Stunning. And still another 12 months to run on the original 4 year replacement warranty.

Wow, that is incredible. Dell's business support is top notch as well and why I always purchase Dell products at my place of work.
 
I honestly think it depends on where you live. The DELL support here in Australia is utter trash. Not once, or twice, but countless times I've had friends and family buy their laptops and desktops from DELL, and when something goes wrong (whether it be simple or not), the support is just terrible. My ex-girlfriend had a DELL desktop and it took them 2 months to repair it and send it back, their excuse was they were trying to pinpoint the problem. Last time I checked, putting a thumb up your behind isn't pinpointing a problem
 
I think Dell are good when it comes to corporate sales, and higher end consumer sales. The cheap laptops never last too long really, something always dies (usually the battery).
 
wow that used to be an oxymoron to say Dell and Good CS in the same sentence. Glad it worked out for you.
 
This is common practise for dell lately, they are always upgrading you if you buy a high end monitor from them and something goes wrong with it. Two of my mates had that same monitor and where both upgraded too the same model you where when something went wrong.
 
Your good CS was about 1 in 100,000. Dell has the worst CS ever, except for their business CS. They actually know what they're talking about. Either way, glad it worked out for you.

I think Dell has the WORSE customer service! I had a Dell monitor that had about 7 dead pixels on the top right, and it took them 7 months for me to get it back.
