I am looking for a new motherboard that supports crossfire. I have a Athlon x2 6400+ and I am getting 2 Radeon HD 6850s. I am looking at motherboards with 790FX or 790GX and 750SB.
I am looking at the Foxconn A79A-S or A7DA-S I don't really know if I can trust foxconn? i have heard bad things but if the only problem is updating bios that's fine. I would like to upgrade my CPU to a Phenom. I like the ASUS M2R32-MVP but not sure what to think about it. Id like a Asus M3A79-T Deluxe but those don't exist anywhere. I don't plan to crosfire more than 2 cards but i might put a GTX card in for dedicated PhysX.

If you can swing it I would move up to the AM3+ socket. I have looked at doing a few builds with the AM3+ socket and they seem to come in a little cheaper than the 1155 builds. Build one for a friend two weeks ago and the total was about 800 USD. I am sure you can get into the AM3+ range for much cheaper than that though. If you would like I could look into an AM3+ build for you.

Yeah I built a LGA1155 for my bud for $800 should have been closer to 600 but everything sold out.. Boxing day :\

I hate when that happens but sometimes it makes for a Faster/better Machine. :P Did you make him do his own cable management? Ever since I did a few builds in front of my gamer friends they want me to redo there cables. What can ya do lol. I think i could come up with a pretty impressive machine for 600 in the AM3+ range possibly in the 1155 range.

i want to buy a motherboard for around $100 i have all the other parts. i cant aford to build an entirely new computer right now. i have looked into it and want to but right now i have 2 graphics cards and my motherboard only has 1 PCIe slot. i have 6 gigs of ddr2 so i really want to buy a am2+ for now. it will more than meet my requirements. i was planning on just getting a newer gpu but i have the parts for a crossfire. so i know i want an am2+ still i just dont know if i can trust foxcon. i just want stability really. but the extra features like gigabit lan and esata and raid are also nice.

I have little experience with Foxcon, personally I would get ASUS M2R32-MVP. I have used ASUS boards as a matter of fact they are usually my go to board manufacture.

ive used a foxcon board junk best way to go if your staying with amd is a am3+ board thay dont that much thay start about 40 pounds and up
and most am3+ boards will still work with athlon chips

i dont know what that is in us dollers i bet you can find something better then foxcon

yea I really like the asus i have now and i want to stay with an asus. my current cpu does not support ddr3 so no i cant get an am3+ board. if i build a new computer its either going to be an i5 or an a10 and i cant afford that now so im getting an am2+. I think ill get the asus cause it meets my requirements.
