I think the enclosure is much better than the current external GPU options available at the moment (like the m-pci to PCI-e adapters).

Seriously yes because more memory might mean less CPU usage meaning that more cpu is ready to be allocated for computing.

They've been around for a while dude, MSI did one, problem is they are limited to the output of the PCMCIA slot usually 75w max. Netstor do a dual external PCIe caddy.
