Alien Isolation, What do we think?

I've just had a good 3 hours of play time, and so far I'm pretty bored, I thought the first 30 minutes or so might be slow, but 3 hours in and all I'm doing is walking around, collecting blueprints, building the items from the blueprints, and hacking doors. Please tell me it gets more exciting.

One thing is anyone else running Eyefinity ? If so, are the 2 outer monitors kind of blurry, compared to the centre monitor ?

not running eyefinity but i imagine they are blury by design. like when you have the motion tracking thing out and hold right click to focus your view ahead the tracking thing goes blurry.

not sure how long i played for. but i did only just come across worker joes who make me fear for my safety lol.
so i kind of like the tension. Do wish i could take them out a bit easier but have a bigger risk or attracting the alien as a trade off.

All the Xenomorph wants to do is give you a hug and a kiss. I love the lil tell tales though when it's in the vent, saliva pouring on the floor and if you get there early enough, you can see its breath from the vent.

That sounds awesome for little added graphic effects. Would you all say the game is worth the £30 price tag?

Edit: How would you like to place this with virtual reality support?!

definatly worth £13 if any one is wondering.. (just the 1st 2 parts is worth that to me, better than going to the cinema)
you do need to enjoy stealth and freaking out though.. and i really reccomend sticking it on the hardest setting.

-=edit=-

7870 just arrived. with 2gb of ram whoot..
gave it a reall basic oc to 1200/1250 (i will have a look and see what i can really get out of it later, i would be shocked if that is the max and i just guessed it though)

any way diod a quick little run of benches. noticably better 3dmrk scores but for this thread all im interested in is tha alien isolation results..

So they came out with a lower min than the 7850?? (no idea why) then higher avarage and max..
min: 9.71 avg: 59.86 max: 103.03

So thats a bit better in reality.

what i am happy with is the frame times now. that came down from an avarage of 20ms to a more respectable avarage of: 16.71ms (and that was the avarage for every part of the test) so consistant too.

and here is a screen dump of the same part of open calc

edit again because this does not deserve a post even though it wouldnt be a dbl post..

seems im pretty good at guessing the cards limits lol. i was only able to get 50mhz more out of the gpu. and the gddr was pretty maxed out already. it equated to 200 points on 3dmark which is within my margin of error. so i dont see the point in having it so backing it back down to 1200 gpu and ram can stay at 1250

I'm getting strange results from the benchmark and minimum framerates as well.
My minimum framerate is higher with higher resolutions and lower with lower resolutions

It should be the other way around. But meh, it is the average that matters the most when playing.
