Not sure about this one, never cared for any of the others Alien spin off games. Could be alright I guess if you like the premise. More puzzles will be nice after all the run and guns they made.

As for the the looks, i'm pretty sure the motion blur and dof are key to the 'look' of the game, especially the dof stuff.
I'll give it a look tonight, from what I can surmise, it's definitely for fans of the first movie, not so much the other 3. And definitely not Aliens, which for me is great, it has such style and presence in Alien. Can't wait

I'm not a fan of dof and motion blur, not so much dof but I definitely hate motion blur.
I might stick dof back on though because it does add to the look of the game.

decided to try it..
seems ok really i stuck it on the hardest setting and got going. the worker joes will die. but those things are almost as scary as the alien.
trying not to give any spoilers away. and i got a revolver now.. i tried to use it once used up almost all my ammo to kill one worker joe. and obviously wouldnt even dream of shooting the alien with it.
so its a nice ornament for now at-least.
cant say im a fan of the crafting but i do like the save system. and it does have me a bit panicked at times.. I do think it needs to be played on hard "all games do but especially this one" that way you defiantly fear the hostiles.
the music is quite dramatic prehaps a bit over doing it but i guess it helps with the mood..

reminds me a little of the 1st bio shock at the start when you wouldnt dare take on a big daddy (again i played it on the hardest setting lol)
so i guess that is a good thing.. holding off final judgment untill completion. but it is pretty good for now.
and if the alien does get you you never see it coming. "i was bashing a door and then she found me"
also it seems to run very well even on my measly 1gb 7850 so id imagine lighting and texture packs will come allong to fix that after a while and make it look better. "it does look a bit less advanced than you would hope for a new release"

So far I am loving this game, apart from the alien who seems to love me so much that it keeps getting me!! :banghead:
Just done that bit after countless deaths in that area. That's the only place where I have died so many times so far.

maxed out at 1080p (my monitor cant do more than that) "everything is on the higest it will go so ultra ultra etc etc"
and the results are:
MIN :11.33 avg: 50.00 max 88.24
this is with a 1gb hd 7850 at 1165/1200 and i5-2500k @ 4.3 8gb ripjaws 1600
tomorrow whenmy 7870 arrives i will do it again (should have been here yesterday but i missed the dleivery)
also here is some of the cvs the game makes. i use open office calc which honestly sucks.. but that is how much you can see of it at 1 go.
i dont think the frame times are that bad either pretty consistant at 20.00ms avarage for everything hope the 7870 will drop that down a little.
