well people im after some advice on an issue and just wanted to know if any of you knew about it

i wanted to ask your advice on if someone was living in a unit/workshop (this workshop is on a farm and wooden frames with tin sheets fro side, as far as i know the the local council know the workshops are there but they dont know there is someone staying in one of them) and not paying to be there and the unit is for business/hobbie use only letting the local council know about this who be person getting trouble, the landlord or the persons using/renting the workshop.

the unit is fitted with a kitchen, shower, bedroom, toilet from a caravan, wardrobes etc

there is more to the story but not sure you guys really want to know and im also sorry if this is something i should not have posted on here but just after some advice, if its not ok please feel free to remove it and sorry if i have caused hassle

im not 100% sure on what you ar asking advice about??
are you asking if yo should report the person so they are moved away.. or are you asking if you should try and find out if the person can be relocated to a real house?
 
Pretty sure thats illegal on the Landlord's side. The person staying won't be in trouble. The Landlord will get fined/jail if it is proven that they know the person is living there. Its quite possible that they'll be able to prove they don't know.
 
Since 2004 Squatting is illegal in the UK, you say "Landlord" which would indicate that it is private property and not a concern of the local council, the only thing the landlord would be liable for is inaccurate council tax contributions, that is of cause if the landlord is knowingly allowing someone to stay on their property. If however it is council property and someone is squatting then the council are responsible for their removal and the squatter will face criminal charges.
