After market GTX 460 Coolers.

Okay so the beast is up and running but I have hit a little snag with my plan.

I am running 2x EVGA GTX 460 768MB Superclocked cards which vent out the back of the case, the problem I have is that the Sabertooth x58 is very tight when it comes to running things in SLI and as such the top card is getting very toasty at times.

Was wondering if anyone has advice on decent after market coolers which will fit and of course lower the temps.

well the centre cooled ones were alot better,plus giga,msi,and asus already have aftermarket cooled ones out.

plus the chips run cool and can withstand silly heat (110c so i am told) so i doubt there will be any coolers out for it,saying that tho AC might bring one out

No cooling apart from water cooling will even the temps out dude. It's just the way it is. In Crossfire my top card was always at least 8c above the bottom one. As AMD says if you're within temp range (I would never want to see any card go above 80c) then you're fine. After market coolers are usually a lot bigger and if things are tight that won't help.

For the moment I have the cards running as follows;

Core Clock: 805

Shader Clock: 1610

Memory Clock: 1955

Fan Speed: 70%

Idle Temp GPU1: 35c

Idle Temp GPU2: 29c

Load Temp GPU1: 65c

Load Temp GPU2: 55c

If I increase the fan speed it will obviously get cooler but it sacrifices my hearing when doing so.

Wanted to squeeze a little bit more juice out of them but I guess I should learn to be happy with what I already have and next time look into the PCI-E space.

Dude those temps are awesome. Honestly you're worrying over nothing. My 8800 Ultra (it works lmao) idles at 62.

Ye my GTX470 idles at 40C and it gets all the air it could possibly require. Runs at 80C on load..

The simplest soloution would be gpu waterblocks but thats gonna get pricey and fiddly.

mate those temps are excellent but u aint half cranked up the fan speeds

+1 for watercooling... These fermi chips loves water.

Expansive but cooler chip + more overclocking headroom.

Replacing the tim with your favorite one might help. Not that you need it, temps are well in spec and are low even

460 wise you can max the voltage tweaking no problem on air, you would need to flash the bios to get better access to the voltages then that voids the warranty
