advice please.

The AX650->850 are made by Seasonic, whereas the AX1200 is made by Corsair themselves. Would not surprise me at all if several things, such as the modular connections, were incompatible within the range.

Well that would explain why i cant find corsair 650 for sale lol. So if thats the psu i want then i need to search for the seasonic unit?

Nonono, i was just talking about the modular cable issue.
After some quick Googling i've come back...completely stumped. Looks like a) everyone's just out of stock because of logistics issues b) something new is in the works.
Interesting :)

Yeah it is very unusual. I spent about an hour searching every site i could think of and found nothing. I even got to the point where i checked corsairs website to confirm the unit actually existed haha

The AX1200 and 1200i are actually made by Flextronics.

And the Corsair website sells the braided cables, but I've noticed that they're very hard to find at retailers.

As for the Seasonic X660, it wouldn't surprise me if it was actually the same psu as the Corsair AX650. If you look at the following pics, you'll see that the connectors are exactly the same.

Seasonic
Corsair

So on that basis would it be safe to assume that the x660 is a very good psu?

Seasonics have a very good reputation, so yeah. The only difference that I can see between the two is that the AX has a 7 year warranty while the Seasonic's is 5 years.

Ill more than likely upgrade it by that time anyway so 5 years is plenty for me :) thanks for all your help and advice guys :)
