Hey guys,
I have just got a new motherboard because the PCI-E slot became faulty so I got the AsRock 990FX-Extreme3 AMD 990FX DDR3 to go with my Phenom II X6 1055T and now i'm in the mood to spend some Christmas money on other upgrades I have quite a few topics I want to discuss so sorry if this is long.
Current specs:
CPU: AMD phenom II X6 1055T
CPU cooler: corsair H70
GPU: AMD Radeon HD6850 1GB
Motherboard: AsRock 990FX-Extreme3 AMD 990FX DDR3
Case: NZXT Lexa S Mid Tower Case
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws X F3-10666CL9D-8GBXL (2x4GB) DDR3
PSU:Aereon Asroc ASC-520C 520W
HDD:Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB
I have just ordered a twin pack of corsair SP120 performance edition fans for the H70 in push/pull config as it came with no fans it is only using a single fan that came with the case, and have also order a Kingston HyperX 3K SSD 120GB.
My main concern is my graphics card I really want to future proof myself for a while by buying a single MSI HD7950 3GB Twin Frozr III OC (I really want the never settle bundle) and then buying another further down the path and crossfire them but i'm not sure if spending the extra money for a GTX670 or 7970 is worth it both costing $100 AU more than the my current choice, so any input would be splendid.
I currently only have 8GB of ram and I want to upgrade to 16GB and get the highest Freq. my CPU can handle I've heard its either 1333mHz in which case ill just buy another 8GB set of my current ram or the other i heard 1866mHz in which case i'll get Patriot Viper 16GB (8GBx2) 1866mHz DDR3 so if anyone could enlighten me what is the max freq the Phenom II X6 1055T, thank you.
Over the last month or so I have spent a lot of time looking into the aesthetics of computers such as modding and so I want to replace my case since I tried cleaning the acrylic panel with normal window cleaner and it burnt the panel so now it looks shocking and I want a red colour scheme. So I have come up with the idea of getting a NZXT source 210 with window and get red LED strips for the inside and get bitfenix red extension cables to hide my ugly power supply cables in the back. what do you guys think of this? I want red to match my red backlight keyboard but I'm worried about the case, I have trouble now fitting in my h70 and the source 210 is even smaller, should I save up extra cash for say a bitfenix shinobi XL or corsair C70 or 600T I cant make my mind up, please hlp me.
Well thank you if you lived through that any advice would be magnificent even if you tell me i'm and idiot and I should such and such I'll listen as i'm never confident in my own decisions.
