I was thinking about getting quad core (Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 2.66 or Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.40GHz), 1TB instead of 2TB and maybe a better video card (2 cards that is).

I want it to be my work station and somewhat a high end gaming PC. To run games like Crysis (smoothly but not perfectly) and other high demanding games. I was planing on buying a Mac Pro but it's way too much for my budget.

I am not an expert in hardware. Please bear in mind I will be buying all my stuff from 4lunch.nl it's known to be one of the best site in the Netherlands.

Thank you in advance for your advice and tips.

that looks like a very good pc, i wouldnt change the spec much. It would deffinately be worth getting a quad core, especially as the rest of the system is so top end. Youll also need a different cooler (tuniq tower is good) as that cooler spec'd isnt that great and will struggle with a quad core.

780i is not a good chipset. Get the x38/x48/p35 based motherboard.

Obviously you would have to drop the 2nd GT, so just buy one 512mb GTS, well, actually the 8800GTX still gives the best performance in games. REAL LIFE PERFORMANCE before anyone chimes in with 'benchmarks'. So get a 2nd hand GTX for ~£200, or if you like dual card setups you can get two 3870's in crossfire...

If you bench get a quad, if you overclock and game get a dual core.

Looks nice mate :)

Aren't Komplett in EU?

Ditto almost all what Mr Smith said. Cept I wouldn`t say the 780i is not good. Imo not as good as the other chipsets mentioned. And yes 1 card instead of 2 unless ur looking to bench as opposed to using the machine.
