Advice needed: Will cooler fit my case?

Hi Guys,

So building a new machine and came across a question that I need answered and cant be 100& sure on my own.

I am getting the Antec P280 as my case which has a Max CPU Cooler Height 6.7" / 170 mm and my cooler is the Dark Rock 2 from be quiet! which has dimensions of 97 x 138 x 166. Initially I thought great, 4 mm clearance, should be ok but then I noticed that the cooler said "without mounting material" and then I realised that this may also not take the board in to account (which is the ASUS Sabertooth Z77, Sockel 1155, ATX MB. So now I am not sure should I be looking at another cooler of what.

Even the mainboard distance holders are usually longer than 4 mm :/

So basically I need to change something? That will be the cooler cause I am not changing the board or case

It should fit tbh, you just may have to move the fan down. If the fan touches anything that will stop fitment of the door.

Cooler tower hight should be fine. Remember thats a 120mm fan at the back.....

The fans don't really move down on the Dark Rock Pro 2.

No chance of changing the case if you haven't already bought it? There are much better cases out there nowadays

no case is not changing james, for me, for what I want and look for in a case this is the one for me.

Any thoughts on moving to liquid cooled? Something like the Corsair Hydro Series H50 or something like that?

I'd probably recommend the H55 or one of the newer Corsair Hydro range over the old series

would the H60 be ok or should I look at the H70? I dont know which ones are from the new and old series

The H80i is one of the best around that you could fit. The H60i will be fine if you want to save money

H80i should be the LOWEST you go for enclosed water. Forget ANYTHING else.
