Hey guys just signed up, seeking some advice.

Basically im building my first gaming computer., decided i'd go with the i7 2600k, been hearing rumors the Giga ud7 is the leading board for this setup.

Just want to clear this up, al though if there is a cheaper alternative to the ud7, what would you recommend?

Thanks in advance.

For gaming i would suggest the i5 2500K rather than the i7 2600K as it wount improve gaming anymore than what the i5 can do.

the UD7 is amazing for gaming you and is 1 of only 2 boards (MSI big bang marshal the other) that supports dual graphics with both running at 16x bandwidth.

if you are not going to do sli or xfire then i would suggest the asus p86p pro, i think it was or deluxe either one or the ud5 which ever looks the best in your eyes

hope that helps

If you're looking to build a monster I think it's fantastic. Especially if you're going to do SLI. It's a premium board, though, and in my opinion you've really got to go all out with other things to take full advantage...and even then, cheaper options most definitely give the better value.

So if you're looking for cheaper options, the Sabertooth P67A looks great. Features are all there and that covering on the board that it has could make for one really amazing-looking rig.

As Firat said the i5 2500K and ASUS P8P67 Pro would be good.

266.00 + £221.99 = 487.99

Save the money you would of spent on the i7-2600K and ud7 and grab a better GPU or a SSD.

Hi.

Intel's extreme P67 board will run 2 PCIexpress 2.0 x 16 slots at x8 each so dual graphics cards is an option, it must be a good board and is a good price:

for more money MSI's high-end stuff is good

SB 2500K (4 cores & 4 threads)is good today and game developers are making engines to use 8+ cores so if you want a future proof gaming rig the 2600K (4cores & 8 threads) should prove better when the 8 thread'd game engines are in play.
