So I am not sure which one to get Asus ROG Swift PG278Q or Acer XB270HUbprz the acer is £90 more expensive at the moment. I prefer the look of the Rog Swift and it matches the black red theme of my setup. Is the IPS display really worth the extra £90?

The extra 90£ is worth not going through an infinite rma cycle ;)

I got a Swift but instantly had a bright pixel. Waiting for my local store to stock the Acer xb270 and then I'm switching my Swift for it

I don't know much about the Acer but I've had my swift since it was released and I LOVE it! Ignore the hate about the swift and try it for yourself, and if you don't like send it back for the Acer :) not every swift suffers from dead pixels, mine is still perfect and I use it everyday hours on end

I can't speak as to the quality of this specific monitor, but I recently bought Acers 4K G-sync screen, the XB280HK, and I am VERY impressed with the quality. It's a sweet screen, great color, and no issues so far (knock on head).

This... I recently purchased the Swift and so far I'm loving it! :)

Thanks for the replies I will probably go with the acer. Any ideas when the ROG PG279Q will be released, some sites Q3 some say Q4, and any idea on the pricing of it?

the Asus Rog PG279q is likely to be released in q3 from what I hear from some retailers. Some sites have started accepting pre-orders as well. No idea about the pricing however, its going to have the ROG tax for sure.

my experience with the two monitors - I had an ROG swift and now use the acer xb270hu. I like the acer xb270hu better simply because of its superior colours. the swift is capable of better colours than every other Tn out there but at the end of the day, an IPS panel simply is the better technology with regards to image stability and viewing angles.

Lastly, and most importantly, which monitor are you upgrading from? If you are currently using a normal TN film monitor, then you will be extremely happy with either of these monitors.
However, if you are currently using an IPS panel, then you are likely to be bothered by the TN film viewing angles and the upgrade to acer xb270hu is recommended.
