Acer Predator XR341CKB & XR341CKA are available to Pre-order

I'm waiting for a 4k Freesync with at least a 100hz panel and IPS.. that'll be the day. Or at the very least a 10bit TN panel.

Well we're all different and 4K isn't really my thing... I'm well satisfied with 1440p, don't see a reason to go 4K and use much more out of my GPU when I'm not barely gaming these days.

Just like the huge, curved, nice panel of that thing and since I have a 980Ti, G-Sync is preferable :)

This is what my upgrade will be, a 21:9 1440p monitor. But its either this or wait for the Asus Rog one. Will see and wait for a possible 990 or similar for my Mini itx build. Would drop 2500 euros on monitor and 990.

I've been wondering though... by having this aspect, this massive widescreen monitor, how will games look on it?. Will they be stretched or what, like Battlefield 3 and 4?. And what about movies, will they be the same?.

Movies should look better - unless the transfer is fixed aspect in which case you'll get the 21:9 displayed in a 16:9 box with bars on the top and side. Anamorphic should look brilliant and true 2.35 :1 would fill the screen completely with no bars. Also can depend on your player.

More and more games are being supported without config mods so the game will look the same - just a wider aspect ratio. I'm saving now. Hopefully next year :)

One is 2560x1080 and the other is 3440*1440 (nicer but more expensive)

Well... wow... haha! I'm officially blind and retarded! ... Didn't honestly see that.

What is that "VA" though on the cheaper one and the other is the gorgeous IPS?...

IPS is beautiful and VA is better than TN but that's the limit of my knowledge there. Samsung use VA on their new 34" whereas LG and the others seem to go with IPS for the higher resolutions. I think VA gives you better blacks but that's just from memory which at lunch time on Tuesday is already getting dodgy!!

Edit - I just had a look on http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/articles/panel_technologies.htm and lasted about twelve seconds before my brain exploded with too much info!
